What is a pipe fitting?

Posted by:Rain Time:2019.05.07 21:51

The pipe fittings are pipe assemblies that help to change the direction of flow, such as elbows and tees. Change the size of the pipe, such as reducer, reducer, etc. Connect different components (such as couplings) and stop the flow (such as Caps).

There are different types of fittings used in pipes. Pipe fittings used in pipeline engineering mainly include elbows, tees, reducers, joints, couplings, crossheads, covers, threaded joints, plugs, bushings, expansion joints, Adapters, Olet (Weldolet, Sockolet, Elbowlet, Thredolet, Nipolet, Letrolet, Swepolet), Steam Traps, Long Radius Bend, Flanges and Valve.

You can see the chart above listing the most widely used standard fittings. These standard fittings are either forging or wrought. Only seamless pipes are used to produce wrought fittings.  Large diameter welded fittings are made of steel.

These Fittings are available in different type of end connections.
