According to a report on October 29, the Polish Ministry of Energy said on Monday that the country's refinery will fully restore emergency crude oil reserves in the first quarter of next year. Previously, due to pollution, supply from Russia was interrupted and these refineries were allowed to use emergency crude oil reserves.

After the discovery of the pollution, the Russian oil supply via the Druzhba pipeline was suspended for 46 days. During this period, refineries owned by Polish state-owned PKNOrlen and Lotos relied on offshore oil supplies from other sources outside Russia and used emergency reserves.

The Energy Department said on Monday that it had allowed them to reduce emergency oil inventories by 1.1 million tons at the request of the refinery.

This action enabled the refinery to function smoothly during supply disruptions... The emergency reserve will be fully restored in the first quarter of 2020,” the DOE said in a statement.

The Ministry of Finance and the International Energy Agency (IEA) said that the current total crude oil inventories in Poland (including industry-owned stocks and government stocks) are higher than the 90-day level required by the IEA.

The IEA said in a statement: "Therefore, Poland's emergency crude oil inventories are sufficient. According to the information provided by the Polish government to the IEA, these stocks have not been contaminated by contaminated crude oil in Russia and therefore continue to meet quality expectations."
