At present, most of the pipes used in China are Q195 welded pipes, Q215, Q235 and other ordinary carbon steels. The scaffolding steel pipes of foreign economically developed countries generally use low-alloy steel pipes. Compared with the carbon steel tube, the low alloy steel tube can increase the yield strength by 46%, the weight loss by 27%, the atmospheric corrosion resistance by 20% to 38%, and the service life by 25%. The domestic construction industry also has a large demand for scaffolding for construction of low-alloy high-strength welded pipes, but there are not many manufacturers. Experts analyze the three advantages of using low-alloy steel pipes instead of ordinary carbon steel pipes:

First, construction costs can be reduced for construction companies. Low-alloy steel pipes are 25% more expensive per ton than ordinary carbon steel pipes, but can be 13% lower per metre. At the same time, due to the light weight of low-alloy steel pipes, the transportation cost is also considerable.

Second, it can save a lot of steel. Replace φ48mm×3.5mm carbon steel pipe with φ48mm×2.5mm low-alloy steel pipe, saving 270kg of steel for each ton replacement. In addition, the low-alloy steel pipe has good corrosion resistance and long service life, which is beneficial to saving steel and improving economic benefits.

Third, due to the light weight and low physical and mechanical properties of the low-alloy steel pipe scaffold, it can not only reduce the labor intensity of workers, improve the working environment, but also improve the efficiency of loading and unloading construction, and create favorable conditions for construction safety and development of new scaffolding. Therefore, the replacement of carbon steel scaffolding with low alloy steel pipe scaffold has significant economic and social benefits.
